You do not need a huge amount to begin this project. From there, you can start expanding your supplies and jump to a large-scale production until it expands to a bigger business where it can generate employment opportunities and stable income. Converting idle classrooms to mushroom hubs, generates steady income to the project beneficiaries, which led to a sustainable livelihood for the barangays that participated.
LO members personally went to the mushroom cultivation farm in Nueva Ecija to personally study and learn how to grow the mushrooms. They collaborated with the community in Nueva Ecija to also learn the procedure in making various mushroom finished products, which they can share with their chosen community as beneficiary.
The LO have seen the potential market for mushroom especially for health-conscious consumers that they invited mushroom culturists to teach the participants from 201 barangays in Pasay City to cook different sides, dishes and snacks.
